If you’re dreaming of an intimate wedding ceremony in Saanichton, British Columbia, let Megan and Katie’s celebration at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse be your inspiration. This venue with its lush landscape brought their cozy, fairytale vision to life. The moody forest vibes, romantic ciderhouse charm, and golden orchard light created a dreamy initmate experience. Their wedding felt like stepping into Forks, WA daydream thanks to the lush scenery and their thoughtful details. This is one wedding you’ll want to pin for later!
Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse is a West Coast venue you truly have to see to believe. This venue combines the best of all worlds with its orchard views, seaside glimpses, and distant mountain backdrops. No matter the aesthetic you’re going for, this venue can bring that vision to life thanks to the property’s versatility. (Side note: as the name suggests, their cider is amazing. I personally recommend Witch’s Brew). The pros at Sea Cider make planning your big day a breeze thanks to their curated list of partner vendors. They compiled their list with a range of tastes, styles, and budgets in mind. Given the vision for a lowkey, fairytale day Megan & Katie described when I spoke with them initially, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse couldn’t have been a better choice.
Instead of doing separate first looks, they started their day by helping each other get ready. While I love a first look, there was something so personal and romantic about their approach. There was no big reveal or orchestrated reactions, just two people choosing to show up for one another in the most tender, grounded way. It was a beautiful reflection of who they are and the kind of love they share. While Sea Cider is beautiful in the fall (especially with the orchards) Megan & Katie’s May wedding was absolutely dreamy. We took sun-soaked pre-ceremony portraits after they were dressed for their big day. It was a cinematic experience to photograph!
From the moment Megan and Katie first reached out, it was clear how much this day meant to them. I knew based on their descriptions how intentional every detail would be. The overall aesthetic was Twilight-inspired with tons of moody, enchanted forest details for their intimate ceremony. They planned an earthy color palette and opted to have their bridesmaids carry lanterns. Their dresses were something straight out of a fairytale. Combine all of those things with their handfasting ceremony & their wedding was unforgettable. After they exchanged vows & their guests cheered, we shot the most beautiful sunset orchard photos followed by a celebratory reception complete with even more intricate details.
Following their dreamy, intimate ceremony, Megan and Katie’s reception was equally as fairytale-like. The indoor space at Sea Cider Farm was decorated with delicate florals, earthy moss, candles, and personal touches. Guests were invited to enjoy s’mores and dance the evening away with the brides before bidding them farewell at their romantic sparkler exit. Theirs is a perfect example of a wedding planned to be exactly what the couple envisions– a beautiful, personal beginning to a long & happy marriage!
